I haven’t read this topic thoroughly yet, but I have been guided to use sample size calculation by Krejcie and Morgan’s work.
In short, I am working in a village of about 300 people, so I need to collect at least 169 samples.

100 — sample 80
400 — sample 198
1 400 — sample 302
10 000 — sample 384
